Why "Things Japan"?

Tokyo Matsuri: Minami-KitazawaJust started a new category called "Things Japan." Some of the readers may be wondering why there would be such a category on a business site like this.  Well the major reason is that I have lived most of my life in Japan.
I began living in Japan in 1968 when my ship, the USS Mahan, was stationed in Yokosuka, a Naval Base about 50 miles south of Tokyo. After getting out of the Navy in '71, I returned to attend Sophia University in Tokyo and remained there.
However in March of '11 due to my aging parents who lived in Glendale, Arizona. I returned to Glendale and have been taking care of them since then. When I am able I plan to return to Japan to continue the circumnavigation of Japan that I started in 2010 in a 16-foot dinghy called "Deai."
So that is why "Things Japan" is on this site...keeps me toes in the water on both sides of the Pacific...though I must admit it is quite a stretch of the legs!!!
If you have any questions about Japan, please send me an email!
I also am doing a blog at "Dancing Nezumi: Things about Japan" that you may find interesting.
